Simple Spring Cleanse
Happy Spring! As the weather begins to warm up, Spring can be a great time to cleanse your body from the heavy foods and more inactive pace of the cozy winter. Participating in a juice fast or master cleanse, or eating a raw food diet can be a quick and effective way to deeply cleanse the body & mind.
There are times in our lives when we know we’re ready for a fully committed cleanse and others when the situation just isn’t right. This is where gentle, daily cleansing foods, drinks and supplements are the perfect fit.
I personally like to take things slow and gentle when I’m really busy and have deadlines that can’t be missed. Those aren’t the times for me to end up in some detox haze that can often appear with deeper cleanses. Instead, daily detox strategies can include drinking lemon water upon rising, drinking green juices, smoothies & teas, adding fresh raw foods to your regular diet and taking supplements like zeolites, chlorella, or fiber products.
Picking one simple strategy at a time and making it your daily cleansing ritual is a low stress way to slowly begin to move out what no longer serves your body. As I’m sure you know by now, I’m a huge fan of anything green—but I also have a discriminating palate and I enjoy eating and drinking for pleasure. So I whipped up this drink with both cleansing and pleasure in mind. It’s something you can start slow with, maybe using less lemon or chlorophyll and slowly moving your way up to the full recipe. The lemon is deeply cleansing to the digestive system and chlorophyll acts as an internal deodorant. Yes, you heard that right—this can literally make you smell better while also supporting digestive, lung and blood health.

Deep Clean Lemonade
- 1-3/4 cups water
- 18 drops mint flavored chlorophyll concentrate
- 2 to 3 tablespoons lemon juice (depending on how tart you like your lemonade)
- 8 drops liquid stevia
Mix the water and the chlorophyll in a glass. Make sure to mix these together before adding the lemon juice or it will not mix properly. Add the lemon juice and stevia and mix again. Drink & enjoy the benefits of your gentle cleanse!
