Cardamom Rose Almond Milk
Roses have always been a favorite flower of mine. During my childhood, my mom wore rose oil perfume and the scent and sight of roses have always held a maternal quality for me.
This fall, as the last of the roses begin to bloom, I stand in awe of their beauty and fragrance. They invite me to turn inward, spiraling consciously towards the things that feel warm and comforting, such as wearing cozy slippers on my feet, taking long baths, and having my hands warmed by steamy mugs filled nourishing beverages like this.
This recipe can be made with fall roses harvested right from your own a garden. I hope that you find it to be as deeply nourishing and delicious as I do!

Cardamom Rose Almond Milk
Makes 4 cups
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons organic dried rose petals
- 1 cup raw organic almonds, soaked overnight and rinsed
- 1/2 tsp organic cardamom powder
- sweetener of choice (I use liquid stevia drops)
Bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil. Add the rose petals and steep for 10 minutes. Strain and set aside until the tea has cooled to room temperature.
Place rose petal tea, almonds, cardamom and sweetener of choice in a high speed blender. Blend until very smooth. Strain through a nut/seed milk bag or, for a thicker drink, do not strain.
Warm slightly on the stove, taking care not to over heat. Pour into large mugs and enjoy!

This will be such yumminess! I just created a raw chèvre cheesecake last week that had saffron and cardamom with a rose water and berry syrup. I can already taste the cardamom and rose together with the almond milk. Looking forward to trying it! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Denise. Your cheesecake sounds amazing!

Yes, roses do offer a maternal blessing. I am remembering the many celebrations in church with Mother Mary and roses. Absolutely nourishing recipe for body and spirit. Just beautiful.
